Industrial Production Growth Below Expectations
Industrial production rose in March of this year, seasonally adjusted by 17.1 percent (gross) and 3.6 percent (seasonally adjusted). In the first quarter, industrial production rose by 4.1 percent and, respectively, 4.4 percent. , the manufacturing and extractive industries and energy providers Contributed to this result, as the Romanian Statistics Office INS announced. However, experts were disappointed, they expected higher growth rates.

Romania's Steel Industry Increased In Q1 Above Average
The gross output of the Romanian steel maker in the first quarter of this year rose by 43.8 per cent to 762 000 tons. The increase is well above the world average, which was 29 per cent (to 342.36 million tons). Only last March, steel production rose by 39.2 per cent to 250,000 tons. Across Europe, the steel production increased by 37 per cent in the first quarter. With a share of 47.3 per cent, Germany was the largest supplier in the EU. Worldwide, China remained the largest supplier of steel with 54.97 million tons (+24.5 per cent quarterly growth).

Industrial Production To Climb In January By 7.1 Per Cent
The most recent figures of the Romanian Statistics Office, INS give cause for joy. Last January, industrial production rose, compared with the same month last year, by 7.1 per cent. In January 2009, industrial production had fallen by 14 per cent compared to January 2008. Industrial production is now growing since last November for the third consecutive month. The increase is primarily due to an increase of 13 per cent in energy production and to an increase of 8 percent of the manufacturing industry. Exports increased 20 percent year on year (down 24 percent in January 2009 to 2008). In terms of exports machinery and transportation means continue to help, which accounted for about 40 percent of exports. Mineral fuels accounted for 7 per cent.

Industrial Production Went Up In December
Even if Romania with an economic decline of 1.5 percent in the fourth quarter of 2009 occupied a sad front ranking position in Europe, the country can had the highest growth in industrial production in December. While the European Union industrial production has declined, according to Eurostat, in the last month of last year by 4.9 percent, it increased in Romania by 6.9 per cent. In the Euro-Zone, the decline in production was 5 per cent. However, as the figures from INS Statistics Office confirm it, the decline in production on an annual review could not be stopped: it was down by 5.5 per cent.

Industrial prices slightly rose in November
Industrial prices rose in November by 0.6 per cent, compared to the previous month. Compared to the same month the previous year's price increase was even 2.6 per cent for industrial goods, as the Romanian Statistical INS announced. In particular, the prices of raw materials in extractive industries, rose by 1.4 per cent. The processing industry demanded by 0.6 per cent higher prices. The energy suppliers increased their prices by 0.1 per cent. An overview by product however gives a different picture. Prices for energy products rose by 1.2 per cent, for consumer goods by 0.5 per cent and for capital goods by 0.4 per cent. Price decreases were recorded only for long-term assets (-1 per cent).
