Conference On Renewable Energies In The Berlin Reichstag - Raluca Oprisiu And Gisbert Stalfort To Held Presentations
Dr. Gisbert Stalfort, attn. at law, and Dr. Raluca Oprisiu, attn. at law, will present on April 8, 2011 the legal framework for investment projects in the field of renewable energies and environmental technology during a conference on "Renewable Energy And Environmental Investments In Romania", in Berlin. The symposium is organized by the German-Romanian Lawyers Association (DRJV) based in Berlin, in cooperation with the German-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (DRAHK), and will take place in the conference hall of the CDU/CSU faction in the German Reichstag in Berlin. Other speakers will be Mr. László Borbély, Romanian Minister for the Environment and Forests, Mrs Katherina Reiche, parliamentary state secretary with the German Ministry of Environment, Mr. Marko Walde, managing director of DRAHK, the Romanian Ambassador in Germany, HE Mr. Lazar Comanescu, and Prof. Dr. Rainer Lindner, managing director of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations. Partners of the event are UniCredit, the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations and the Federal Association of the Solar Industry (BSW), among others.

STALFORT Legal. Tax. Audit At was represented by Mihai Macovei, Attn. at Law, at this year's 6th Conference of INSOL Europe for Central and Eastern European countries. Far more than 150 guests from 17 countries attended this huge conference. Mr. Macovei detailed to the audience the current legal framework regarding the bankruptcy, with all the amendments of the recent past. In his very interesting presentation, he pointed out the different effects of various insolvency proceedings, using practical examples. The representative of the Stalfort law office was in the best company: Keynote Speaker was Mr. Bogdan Olteanu, Vice-President of the Romanian Central Bank, and Nigel Davies of Grant Thornton International London.

Dr. Gisbert Stalfort took part – among high ranking officials like Germany’s ambassador in Romania, HE Andreas von Mettenheim, and the Romanian Minister of Justice, Cătălin Predoiu - in the conference for supporting young legal talents, organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS). Under the "Rule of Law Program South East Europe" KAS organized at the beginning of last March this year the "opening conference for the first youth leadership program, Leaders for Justice 'for young lawyers from Romania" in the Athénée Palace Hilton Hotel in Bucharest. Based on personal experience as a former participant in such to programs to stimulate elites and gifted persons in Germany, Dr. Stalfort welcomed the initiative, to start such a program in Romania as well. During the years of attendance he was able to get to know interesting people, gained the knowledge that it was necessary to influence things for the good of the community, became willing to learn about performance, responsibility, taking over functions, and also that it is worthwhile, to swim against the mainstream. Dr. Stalfort also announced to financially support the program.

Dr. Gisbert Stalfort spoke in front of about 70 guests on 2010, January 15th 2010 at the Berlin International Congress Center about "Renewable Energies in Romania, Legal Framework and Links to Agricultural Stimulation." The audience at the forum enjoyed prominent guest speakers. Apart from Dr. Stalfort, Dr. Mihail Dumitru, Romanian Ministry of Agriculture, also lectured.
Dr. Stalfort detailed the legal framework on renewable energy sources in Romania. He mainly focussed on presenting the available means of financing, on the peculiarity of Romanian real estate laws and on the problems that might occur in obtaining state approvals. In the same time, he also emphasized the problems arising from the perspective of investors because of the legal shortcomings. As a conclusion, Romania still has a huge potential, promising in this economic sector.
Dr. Dumitru again dealed with another industry, which also shows great potential: agriculture. The Romanian Ministry detailed in his presentation the currently existing resources, but also presented the opportunities arising from the backlog of Romanian agriculture.

A well attended conference was held on June 22, 2009 at the business premises of L-Bank in Stuttgart with more than 140 participants, regarding "Economic and financial crisis in Romania – Practical and legal consequences". Organizers were the German-Romanian Lawyer’s Union (DRJV), the German-Romanian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK), the honorary consul of Romania in Baden-Württemberg and the L-Bank.

Surely the German investors in Sibiu must have realized the importance of the legal issues during the crisis, with Romania being also involved. One cannot explain otherwise the enthusiastic response to the seminar “Crisis strategies for investors”, held on April 6, 2009 in front of more than 100 participants and organized by the Economic Office STALFORT and by the German-Romanian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK). A lot of legal tips were given to the participants during the four hours of seminar, mainly about how to react to the challengers in the time of crisis. The legal aspects of the Crisis Management in the labor law were presented by the Attorney Christian Weident, Chief of the Labor Law Department in the STALFORT Office. Attorney Dr. Gisbert Stalfort explained the multiple possibilities of early identification of impending insolvency of the business partners and presented strategies for concluding contracts and measures in case of non-performance of contractual obligations. Attorney Dr. Raluca Oprisiu, from the STALFORT Sibiu – Branch, presented practical action options in case of cessation of the activity.
